You can apply for a SIM card in advance in Korea and use it. Other than that, there is a method of activating directly at a local telecommunication company. If you visit a local telecommunication company such as Vina Phone or Viettel, activate a number, and install a SIM card, a plan that provides 2 to 4 gigabytes of data per day usually costs 50,000 to 90,000 dong per month. It costs between 3,000 and 5,000 won in Korean money. However, you need to charge it separately to make calls or send texts, but it is rare to make calls or send messages in Vietnam. I use the call function within messengers such as KakaoTalk, Facebook Messenger, and Zalo.
Create a Vietnam Bank Account
Creating an account in Vietnam is very simple. First-time visitors can find Shinhan Bank or Woori Bank located in Gyeongnam Tower or Mydinh and open a deposit/withdrawal account. Bank employees located here can speak Korean and English as well, so you would feel more comfortable than other local banks. Cash withdrawal is possible even without present of bank account, all you need is an online bank account. So you can transfer money and withdraw money through a bank app, so there will be no inconvenience.
Signing a contract for an apartment in Vietnam
베트남에서 거주 형태는 크게 두 가지 입니다.
1. 서비스아파트(미니아파트)
일반적으로 건물을 통으로 임대해 거주시설로 바꾼 시설입니다. 보통 6~8층 건물로 이루어져 있고, 계약도 3~6개월 단위로 가능해, 단기로 거주하는 학생들이 찾는 형태입니다. 다만 오래된 건물이 많아 위생이나 보안이 취약해 보이는 경우가 있습니다. 이 점에 민감한 분들은 서비스아파트에서 오랜 시간 거주에 어려움을 겪죠.
2. 일반아파트
우리가 아는 일반 아파트 입니다. 주로 1년 단위의 계약이다보니 장기 거주자들이 즐겨 찾습니다. 하노이에는 수많은 아파트들이 있고, 한국인도 많이 거주하고 있습니다. 그렇다보니, 편의시설이 발달되어있고, 안전이나 위생도 관리하고 있죠. 다만 1년 단위의 계약이라, 어학당 수강생들이 어렵게 생각하는 부분이 있습니다. 이 사항은 계약 전 집주인과 협의해서 다음 세입자를 구해주는 조건으로 보증금을 돌려준다는 조항을 넣으면 됩니다.
